Lake Zegrzyńskie covers an area of about 30 km2, has several kilometers of coastline, numerous beaches, and at least a dozen swimming areas. The latter are what makes the Zegrzyńskie Reservoir particularly attractive during hot summer days. Most swimming areas are still unguarded. On the other hand, the swimming areas supervised by WOPR lifeguards (located, among others, at the aforementioned Wild Beach in Nieporęt and the municipal beach in Serock) are a great option for safely spending free time, dedicated to both adults and young people, as well as families with children. The water in the Zegrzyńskie Reservoir is quite clean, partly due to the construction of several wastewater treatment plants on the Narew and Bug rivers and their tributaries. The cleanliness of the water in the Zegrzyńskie swimming areas is regularly monitored by the Sanepid.
