A trip to the lake is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and daily routine. You can spend your time here lazily or actively — just as you like best. We've selected a few of the most interesting destinations worth visiting by the lake in Poland.

Lake Krutyńskie in Masuria

Where to go to the lake? Definitely to the kingdom of Polish lakes, which is Masuria. Besides the well-known bodies of water: Mamry, Śniardwy, Niegocin, it's worth visiting less popular locations.

Our suggestion is Lake Krutyńskie. It is located in the heart of the Masurian Landscape Park, surrounded by picturesque forests of the Piska Forest. However, its attractiveness is primarily determined by its location on the most beautiful lowland kayaking route in Europe — the Krutynia River. It is definitely worth navigating its waters by kayak to immerse yourself in the green surroundings and tranquility of this place.

Lake Ostrzyckie in Kashubia

The Land of a Thousand Lakes — Kashubia — is another interesting proposal for where to go to the lake. One of the most attractive bodies of water here is Lake Ostrzyckie. Green surroundings, charming islets, and developed tourist infrastructure create excellent conditions for lovers of active leisure.

Besides swimming and sunbathing, it is possible to rent water equipment. There are also cruises on a tourist boat. Lake Ostrzyckie is part of the so-called Raduń Loop — several interconnected lakes that can be navigated by kayak or pedal boat.

Lake Lubie in the Drawsko Lakeland

Let's stay in northern Poland to visit Lake Lubie in the Drawsko Lakeland. Few people may have heard of it. Yet it is one of the largest, most beautiful, and cleanest bodies of water in this region (and perhaps in the whole country).

Wild nature and a calm atmosphere attract those tourists who are looking for an idea of where to go to the lake in Poland to rest from the hectic everyday life. Time flows slower at Lubie, and its rhythm is determined by the rippling waters and the sound of the wind.

The winds are particularly favorable for sailors and windsurfers. Although you can also swim here, relax on the shore, or take a kayak and head out on the famous trail named after Cardinal Karol Wojtyła along the Drawa River.

Zegrzyńskie Reservoir

Lake Zegrzyńskie was created as a retention reservoir on the Narew River. Today it is a favorite getaway spot for residents of Warsaw and the surrounding areas. It is definitely worth visiting from distant corners of Poland as well. Book a hotel by the lake and enjoy blissful relaxation!

Hotel 500 Zegrze is located right on the shore of the reservoir. Every day spent here will greet you with a view of the body of water surrounded by greenery, dotted with beaches and filled to the brim with attractions. At Lake Zegrzyńskie, you can enjoy:

  • swimming areas,
  • boat, kayak, jet ski, and windsurfing equipment rentals,
  • team sports fields,
  • walking and cycling trails.

You don't need to get in your car to swim or go kayaking at Zegrze. After a whole day of active leisure, a well-equipped room with comfortable beds will be waiting for you at the hotel. You can also take advantage of the restaurant, where you can replenish your energy with delicious dishes from European cuisine.

Lake Nyskie in the Nysa Kłodzka Valley

You don't have to travel abroad to feel like you're on a luxurious vacation by the Riviera. Plan your stay by Lake Nyskie! This picturesque reservoir has rightfully earned the title of Nyska Riviera. From the beach, there is a view of the vast, azure-emeral waters, overseen by the slopes of the Opawskie and Rychlebski Mountains.

On-site, there is a guarded beach reminiscent of a foreign resort. You can spend time swimming, riding on pedal boats, taking a cruise on a tourist boat, playing volleyball, or lazily sunbathing. There is a rich gastronomic offer available and water equipment rentals.

Lake Solińskie in the Bieszczady Mountains

A great proposal for where to go on vacation by the lake is also the romantic Lake Solińskie. Located in the Bieszczady Mountains, this artificial water reservoir is famous for its massive 82-meter dam. Recently, it has also gained fame thanks to a newly built gondola lift. Now you can admire the reservoir from a bird's eye view!

From this perspective, you'll see tourist boats lazily crossing the surface of the lake, enthusiastic kitesurfers, and beachgoers relaxing on sandy beaches.

You won't lack for opportunities to spend your free time by the lake — it's entirely up to you which ones you choose for yourself.
